(NARRATOR)>> TODAY ON DETROIT MUSCLE OUR BARN FIND CHEVELLE FINALLY HITS THE ROAD. PLUS IT'S A TRIP TO A MOVIE CAR MUSEUM TO SEE SOME STAR CARS.

(MARC)>> HEY EVERYBODY, WELCOME TO DETROIT MUSCLE. TODAY IS A BIG DAY FOR US HERE BECAUSE WE'RE GONNA GET OUR '72 CHEVELLE OUT ON THE ROAD FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME.

(TOMMY)>> YEAH THIS OLD THING HAS COME A LONG WAY SINCE WE DUG IT UP. NOW IF YOU REMEMBER BACK, WHEN WE FOUND THIS OLD THING, WELL IT WAS SITTING INSIDE OF A BARN. WE FOUND THIS OLD CHEVY IN A HAY BARN IN RURAL TENNESSEE. IT HAD BEEN IN THERE FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS OR SO WHEN WE FIRST LAID EYES ON IT. SO WE TORE THAT SUCKER DOWN AND GOT HER MEDIA BLASTED. THEN STARTED REPLACING THE SHEET METAL. WE UPGRADED THE SUSPENSION. REBUILT THE INTERIOR, BODY WORK AND PAINTED IT, AND GOT HER BACK TOGETHER. THERE IS ONE LAST THING THAT WE NEED TO DO ON OUR CHEVELLE, AND THAT IS INSTALL A HEADLINER. NOW THIS ISN'T REALLY MY CUP OF TEA OR MARC'S BACK THERE. SO WE BROUGHT IN A FRIEND OF OURS, CHRIS, WITH KIWI'S CLASSICS AND CUSTOMS.

(CHRIS)>> YEAH, THESE OLD SUSPENDED HEAD LINERS IN THE MUSCLE CARS CAN BE A CHALLENGE, BUT WE'LL GET HER DONE TODAY.

(TOMMY)>> WE'VE HAD OUR REPLACEMENT HEADLINER FROM ORIGINAL PARTS GROUP LAID OUT FOR A LITTLE WHILE. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE WE NEED TO DO?

(CHRIS)>> WELL LAYING IT OUT FOR A WHILE IS GREAT. IT LETS EVERYTHING RELAX, SMOOTH OUT. THE NEXT STEP IS THE BOWS. NOW TOMMY, THANKS, YOU NUMBERED THEM AS YOU TOOK THEM OUT. THAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT. THEY'RE ALL A DIFFERENT LENGTH OR DIFFERENT CURVE. VERY IMPORTANT THEY GO BACK IN THE RIGHT PLACE.

(TOMMY)>> NOW DO YOU WANT TO INSTALL THEM DOWN HERE, OR DO YOU WANT TO DO THAT UP THERE AT THE TOP?

(CHRIS)>> I THINK WE CAN DO THAT UP AT THE BENCH.

(TOMMY)>> OKAY!

KIWI'S GONNA TAKE THE BOWS, AND STARTING WITH NUMBER ONE, INSTALL THEM IN THE LOOPS ON THE HEADLINER.

(CHRIS)>> THE FABRIC LOOPS, WE'RE GONNA TRIM THOSE BACK A LITTLE BIT JUST SO WE CAN EXPOSE THE LITTLE HOOPED ENDS ON THE BARS, WHERE THEY'LL CLIP INTO THE ROOF.

SO I'M PUTTING THE SUN VISOR SCREWS IN, WHICH PROBABLY SEEMS A LITTLE ODD, BUT ONE THING YOU'LL FIND IS ONCE THE HEADLINER'S IN IT'S VERY HARD TO FIND THE HOLES WHERE THE SUN VISORS GO. SO YOU PUT THE THREE LITTLE SCREWS IN, THEY POKE DOWN THROUGH THE HEADLINER, THAT'S YOUR SPOT, EASY.

(TOMMY)>> WELL THE NEW STEP THAT KIWI SAID THAT WE NEEDED TO DO IS TAKE SOME ADHESIVE HERE AND SPRAY IT ALL THE WAY AROUND THE PERIMETER. HOW FAR IN DO I NEED TO SPRAY THIS STUFF?

(CHRIS)>> ABOUT SIX INCHES FROM THE EDGE WILL WORK ON THIS.

(TOMMY)>> NOW THIS JUST DOESN'T REALLY SEEM RIGHT BECAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE IT'D BE A LITTLE HARD TO KEEP ALL THAT GLUE OFF THE UPHOLSTERY WHEN YOU TAKE THIS PIECE OF MATERIAL IN THERE.

(CHRIS)>> WELL THAT'S A MISTAKE A FEW PEOPLE MAKE. THIS STUFF IS CONTACT ADHESIVE. SO YOU SPRAY IT ON BOTH SURFACES AND LET IT DRY UNTIL IT'S TOUCH DRY. THEN YOU PUT IT TOGETHER AND IT STICKS. SO ONCE IT'S DRY IT'S NO MESS, NO FUSS.

(TOMMY)>> WELL ALL RIGHT, I GUESS I'LL SPRAY IT DOWN.

(CHRIS)>> OKAY!

(TOMMY)>> YOU DON'T HAVE TO DROWN IT IN GLUE. A LITTLE BIT AROUND THE EDGES WILL DO THE JOB. [ spray gun hissing ]

(TOMMY)>> THEN IT'S ONTO THE INTERIOR, AND USING A PIECE A CARDBOARD TO KEEP THE GLUE WHERE WE DON'T WANT IT, KIWI WILL GET THE ROOF SPRAYED. [ spray gun hissing ]

(TOMMY)>> ARE YOU COMFORTABLE?

(CHRIS)>> I'M COMFORTABLE!

(TOMMY)>> STARTING AT THE BACK, HE'LL INSTALL THE BOWS THAT HOLD THE HEADLINER UP AGAINST THE ROOF.

THEN HE'LL USE SOME SMALL CLAMPS TO HOLD THE MATERIAL IN PLACE ON THE SEAMS, AND WE'LL START PUTTING THE TRIM PIECES ON THAT HOLD THE EDGES.

HE WORKS HIS WAY AROUND. SOME TRIMMING IS REQUIRED TO HELP IT FIT, AND GET RID OF THE EXCESS MATERIAL. THE EDGES HAVE TO BE TUCKED INTO A CHANNEL THAT RUNS AROUND THE ROOF. CUT AND THEN FINISHED UP WITH SOME TRIM PIECES THAT WE GOT FROM ORIGINAL PARTS GROUP.

WE'LL ALSO BE REINSTALLING PIECES LIKE THIS, WHICH WE REFURBISHED.

WITH ALL THE TRIM INSTALLED, SHE'S A DONE DEAL. WELL I HAVE TO SAY KIWI THAT HEADLINER TURNED OUT SPECTACULAR, AND I HAVE TO SAY ALSO THAT THAT'S THE EASIEST ONE I'VE EVER INSTALLED.

(CHRIS)>> I'LL BET IT WAS.

(TOMMY)>> AND I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS JUST REALLY AND TRUTHFULLY NOT THAT MUCH TO IT, BUT YOU MADE IT LOOK REALLY EASY.

(CHRIS)>> IT'S ONE OF THOSE THINGS. IT'S NOT THAT HARD WHEN YOU KNOW HOW, BUT YOU GET TO KNOW HOW BY TRYING. JUST GIVE IT A GO.

(TOMMY)>> WELL I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO TRY IT.

(CHRIS)>> THERE YOU GO.

(MARC)>> TODAY WE'RE GONNA TALK ABOUT A COUPLE OF THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEMS, BOTH AFTERMARKET AND OEM. MOST OF YOU AT HOME ALREADY KNOW THAT THE CARBURETOR WAS THE ORIGINAL MODE OF GETTING THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF FUEL INTO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER. AS THE THROTTLE OPENS A BUTTERFLY VALVE, AIR IS DRAWN INTO THE CARB'S THROAT, MOVING THROUGH A VENTURI AREA, WHICH ACCELERATES IT. THAT AIR MOVING QUICKLY THROUGH THE THROAT PULLS FUEL FROM A JET IN THE FUEL BOWL. THE FUEL IS ATOMIZED INTO AN EXPLOSIVE VAPOR COMPOSED OF ABOUT 14 PARTS AIR TO ONE PART GAS. AS THE FUEL IS CONSUMED A FLOAT IN THE BOWL LOWERS, OPENING A TAPERED NEEDLE VALVE, WHICH ALLOWS THE FUEL TO BE REPLENISHED. AS THE BOWL REFILLS THE FLOAT IS MOVED UPWARD, WHICH SHUTS OFF THE FUEL SUPPLY TO THE BOWL. WELL THAT'S THE BASICS ON HOW A CARBURETOR WORKS NO MATTER THE DESIGN OR THE SIZE. NOW YOU CAN HAVE ONE BARREL CARBS, OR TWO BARREL LIKE THIS ONE HERE THAT CAME OFF OF AN EARLY '80'S SMALL BLOCK FORD, AND OF COURSE YOU CAN HAVE THE FOUR BARREL LIKE THIS HOLLEY HERE, WHICH IS THE MOST COMMON IN THE AFTERMARKET. NOW THE NUMBER OF BARRELS OR VENTURIS, AND THEIR SIZE IS DEPENDENT ON THE FUEL AND AIR NEEDS OF A PARTICULAR ENGINE. NOW A LOT OF TIMES THE MANUFACTURERS WOULD PUT A SMALLER CARB ON AN ENGINE THAN IT COULD HANDLE, AND THEY EITHER DID THAT TO LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF FUEL IT BURNED TO LOWER THE POWER OUTPUT, OR TO LOWER THE EMISSIONS. THIS WAS REALLY POPULAR IN THE '70'S DURING THE FUEL CRISIS, AND INTO THE '80'S AS WELL WHEN THE EPA STARTED CRACKING DOWN ON EMISSIONS. THIS IS A MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP. IT JUST BOLTS INTO THE SIDE OF THE BLOCK OR THE TIMING COVER, AND THIS LITTLE ARM HERE RIDES ON A LOBE ON THE CRANKSHAFT, WHICH SENDS THE FUEL UP TO THE CARBURETOR USING THIS DIAPHRAGM HERE. WHAT'S COOL ABOUT THIS IS IT PROVIDES THE EXACT AMOUNT OF FUEL PRESSURE NEEDED AT THE CARBURETOR, WHICH IS AROUND FIVE TO SEVEN PSI. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE POWER OUTPUT IS. IT'S GONNA KEEP A LOW PRESSURE LIKE THAT. AS THE POWER LEVEL GOES UP THOUGH, YOU NEED A HIGHER VOLUME PUMP. THE VOLUME GOES UP, BUT THAT PRESSURE LEVEL STAYS THE SAME. ANOTHER COOL THING ABOUT CARBURETORS, LIKE THIS FOUR BARREL HERE ESPECIALLY, IS IF YOU WANT TO UPGRADE YOUR CARBURETOR MOST HAVE THE SAME DIMENSIONS, LIKE THIS RING HERE WHERE THE AIR CLEANER GOES, AND THEN ALSO THE MOUNTING FLANGE HERE, THE BOLT PATTERN ON IT AS WELL. SO YOU CAN JUST UNBOLT YOUR CARBURETOR AND BOLT ON A BIGGER ONE. NOW EVEN THOUGH MANY MANUFACTURERS HAVE MOVED AWAY FROM CARBURETORS, THEY'RE STILL VERY POPULAR IN THE AFTERMARKET. NOW WHEN MANUFACTURERS STOP USING CARBURETORS THEY MOVED ON TO ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEMS AND THAT'S A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANIMAL. WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO GET INTO THAT TODAY. SO THAT'S GONNA HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL ANOTHER TIME.

(NARRATOR)>> COMING UP WE'LL TAKE A LOOK AT SOME FAMOUS HOT RODS, AND THEN TAKE A SPIN DOWN THE DRAGON.

(MARC)>> HEY EVERYBODY, WELCOME BACK. WELL WE'VE GOT OUR CHEVELLE COMPLETE NOW AND IT'S READY FOR ITS MAIDEN VOYAGE. NOW WE HAVE A SPECIAL ROAD TRIP PLANNED FOR THIS THING, AND BEFORE WE GET IT OUT THERE AND START HAVING ISSUES OR SAFETY PROBLEMS WE WANTED TO DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING JUST TO MAKE SURE, SINCE WE HAD THIS CAR COMPLETELY APART DOWN TO THE BARE FRAME. SO WE TOOK IT OUT, PUT ABOUT 40 OR 50 MILES ON IT, LET IT GET UP TO TEMPERATURE, AND EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE OKAY, BUT WE BROUGHT IT BACK IN HERE AND LET IT SIT AND LET IT COOL, AND NOW'S THE TIME WE WANT TO GET EVERYTHING A ONCE OVER.

(TOMMY)>> YEAH, YOU PRETTY MUCH WANT TO START WHENEVER YOU'RE DOING THIS TYPE OF CHECK WITH YOUR BASICS. ANYTHING THAT HOLDS FLUIDS OR CAN PLAINLY COME LOOSE. SAFETY IS IMPORTANT, SO LET'S CHECK THE BRAKES FIRST. NOW HERE ON THE MASTER CYLINDER YOU'D OBVIOUSLY WANT TO CHECK THE FLUID LEVEL. MAN, OLE MARC TIGHTENED IT DOWN PRETTY GOOD. PRETTY MUCH TOPPED OFF, AND YOU'D WANT TO CHECK THIS ON THE FRONT AND BACK IF YOUR MASTER CYLINDER DOESN'T BLEED ACROSS FROM ONE PORT TO THE OTHER. THE NEXT THING YOU'D WANT TO CHECK IS ALL YOUR LINES AND FITTINGS. SIMPLE WAY TO DO THAT IS JUST TO TAKE YOUR DRY FINGER AND RUB ACROSS THE BOTTOM OF IT, AND IF YOU GET A LITTLE BIT OF MOISTURE ON THERE, WELL THAT MEANS THAT THING'S KIND OF SEEPING. YOU'D WANT TO REPAIR THAT FOR SURE, BUT OURS LOOKS GOOD. IT'S ALSO A GOOD IDEA TO CHECK ALL YOUR OTHER FLUIDS OF YOUR VEHICLE. NOW YOU HAVE TO CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WITH THE CAR RUNNING, AND WE DID THAT RIGHT BEFORE WE SHUT THIS THING DOWN. YOU'D WANT TO CHECK THE MOTOR OIL AND YOUR RADIATOR COOLANT. NOW MAKE SURE THAT YOU TAKE THIS CAP OFF WITH THE CAR COLD. IF YOU TAKE THIS THING OFF AND IT'S HOT, WELL YOU'RE PROBABLY GONNA GET BURNED, AND THERE'S A GOOD CHANCE YOU MIGHT ACCIDENTALLY CREATE YOU GEYSER, AND YOU WANT TO CHECK YOUR POWER STEERING FLUID IF YOU'VE GOT THAT OPTION. ANOTHER THING YOU CAN DO IS TAKE A LOOK UNDER YOUR CAR. WE'VE LET THIS THING SET OVERNIGHT, AND IF WE HAD ANY LEAKS WELL THERE'D BE EVIDENCE OF THEM DOWN HERE DRIPPING ON THE FLOOR. NOW IT'S DRY, SO WE'RE IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE. NOW THE NEXT THING WE'RE GONNA CHECK IS A LITTLE BIT MORE MECHANICAL BUT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH YOUR COOLING SYSTEM. WHAT HAPPENS IS AFTER THE CAR RUNS A COUPLE OF TIMES THIS RUBBER, WELL THE HEAT ON IT SOFTENS IT UP JUST A BIT, AND THEN YOU NEED TO COME BACK AND TIGHTEN YOUR CLAMPS DOWN. I'VE SEEN THIS A WHOLE BUNCH OF TIMES. THE NEXT THING I DO AFTER CHECKING ALL THEM CLAMPS IS CHECK EVERY FASTENER THAT HAS OR IS CONNECTED TO A MOVING PART. YOUR BELTS, YOUR TENSIONERS, YOUR THROTTLE CABLE, ALL TYPE OF THINGS, AND IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE CAR AND ITS OPTIONS, AND I'LL TELL YA, THIS CAN TAKE A LITTLE BIT OF TIME BUT IT CAN SAVE YOU A WHOLE LOT OF HEARTACHE.

(MARC)>> NOW THE NEXT THING WE'RE GONNA CHECK IS OUR LUG NUTS, AND I KNOW THAT SEEMS REALLY OBVIOUS BUT THAT'S ACTUALLY ONE OF THE THINGS THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE OVERLOOK. NOW IF YOU WERE MY HIGH SCHOOL AG SHOP TEACHER, BILLY MICHAEL, YOU'D SAY, YOU USE THE FOUR WAY TO TIGHTEN THOSE YOU'RE GONNA GET A REFERRAL. SO MAKE SURE YOU USE A TORQUE WRENCH AND CHECK YOUR WHEEL MANUFACTURER FOR THE TORQUE SPEC. ALL RIGHT, LOOKS GOOD. WELL WE GOT THE LUG NUTS CHECKED ON ALL FOUR WHEELS. ALL THE TIRE PRESSURES ARE GOOD AS WELL. SO NOW I'M GONNA GET THIS THING ON THE LIFT AND GET IT UP, CHECK ALL THE SUSPENSION BOLTS AND NUTS, MAKE SURE THEY'RE TORQUED TO SPEC. ALSO CHECK TO MAKE SURE WE DON'T HAVE ANY FUEL LEAKS, MAKE SURE THE REAR END'S FULL, AND WE'LL BE READY TO HIT THE ROAD.

(NARRATOR)>> STILL AHEAD IT'S MOVIE CAR TIME! THEN THE CHEVELLE GETS TO STRETCH ITS LEGS.

(MARC)>> HEY EVERYBODY, WELCOME BACK. WE'RE OUT TAKING OUR CHEVELLE ON ITS MAIDEN VOYAGE, AND WE DECIDED TO STOP HERE IN GATLINBURG, TENNESSEE.

(TOMMY)>> AND US BEING CAR PEOPLE, YOU KNOW WE HAVE TO STOP BY THIS PLACE, THE HOLLYWOOD STAR CARS MUSEUM. LET'S GO CHECK THIS THING OUT. I'M SURE THEY'VE GOT PLENTY OF COOL STUFF.

(MARC)>> TWO PLEASE!

THERE'S A LOT OF COOL STUFF TO DO IN GATLINBURG, AND YOU KNOW WE HAD TO STOP BY AND SEE THIS PLACE.

WELL WHAT BETTER PLACE TO START THAN THIS, THE ORIGINAL BATMOBILE, AND THIS WAS BUILT BY GEORGE BARRIS FOR THE 1960'S TV SHOW "BATMAN" OF COURSE, BUT BEFORE THAT IT WAS ACTUALLY BUILT BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY AS THE 1955 LINCOLN FUTURA CONCEPT CAR.

(TOMMY)>> NOW THAT ONE MAY BE A LITTLE BIT OLD FOR YOU, AND YOU MAY BE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE RECENT, LIKE THIS 1969 DODGE DAYTONA. IT WAS DRIVEN BY VIN DIESEL IN "FAST & FURIOUS 6". NOW THIS THING IS PLENTY COOL AND HAS A REAL RACE FEEL TO IT, BUT IT'S NOT REALLY A RESTORED CAR, AND I HATE TO TELL YOU MOPAR GUYS OUT THERE IT'S ACTUALLY POWERED BY A CHEVY.

(MARC)>> NO FAMOUS CAR PARADE WOULD BE COMPLETE WITHOUT THE GENERAL, AND WE ALSO FOUND NICHOLAS CAGE HANGING OUT WITH THE ELEANOR MUSTANG. YOU REMEMBER THIS BAD BOY FROM THE REMAKE OF "GONE IN 60 SECONDS", WHERE IT STOLE THE SHOW. NOW I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS A REAL GT 500 BUT EITHER WAY IT'S PRETTY DARN COOL.

(CAMERON)>> 1996 THE MUSEUM OPENED. THE OWNERS HAD MET GEORGE BARRIS YEARS BEFORE WHEN THEY GOT THE BATMOBILE THAT USED TO BE AT THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS MUSEUM. SO WITH BARRIS' PARTNERSHIP HE HELPED US GET STARTED WITH THE CARS IN THIS LOCATION.

(MARC)>> AND YET ANOTHER '60'S TV SHOW CAR BUILT BY GEORGE BARRIS IS THIS. IT'S CALLED "DRAGULA", AND EVEN THOUGH IT ONLY APPEARED IN ONE SINGLE EPISODE OF THE "THE MUNSTERS", IT'S STILL ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC TV CARS EVER AND ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC BARRIS CARS.

(TOMMY)>> WE ALSO CAME ACROSS BUMBLEBEE FROM THE FIRST TRANSFORMERS MOVIE, HERBIE THE LOVE BUG, THE JEEP FROM "TWISTER", AND CARS FROM BOTH ELVIS AND MICHAEL JACKSON. HEE, HEE! NOW THIS HERE IS ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE VEHICLES FROM MY CHILDHOOD, A SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT TRANS AM. NOW YOU MAY REMEMBER BACK WE GOT BUILD ONE OF THESE KIND OF AS A TRIBUTE ON THE SHOW. NOW IN THE '70'S THEY DIDN'T MAKE BIG POWER BUT THEY HAD PLENTY OF PERSONALITY, AND REALLY AND TRUTHFULLY THIS CAR HERE PLAYED JUST AS A BIG A ROLE AS THOSE ACTORS IN THE FILM.

(MARC)>> WELL THIS PART OF THE MUSEUM IS LIKE TAKING A TRIP BACK IN TIME INTO MY CHILDHOOD. OF COURSE WE HAVE "KIT" FROM "KNIGHTRIDER", "ECTO ONE" FROM "GHOSTBUSTERS", REALLY COOL, AND RIGHT OVER THERE IS THE DELOREAN TIME MACHINE FROM "BACK TO THE FUTURE", BUT MY FAVORITE HAS TO BE WHAT'S TUCKED IN BEHIND THIS WALL HERE. THIS THING'S GOT TIRES THAT ARE MATCHED PERFECT AND STAGGERED SPECIAL, AND THAT IS COLE TRICKLE'S RACE CAR FROM "DAYS OF THUNDER".

(CAMERON)>> THE MOST POPULAR CAR, WELL I'D BE HOW OLD YOU ARE. IT'S EITHER THE FAST AND FURIOUS CARS, ESPECIALLY FOR THE TEENAGERS. THE BATMOBILE IF YOU'RE OLDER, ELVIS', BOB HOPE'S, THE BEACH BOYS, IT JUST DEPENDS ON THE AGE. WE HAVE SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY CAUSE WE'VE BUILT A MUSEUM NOT JUST AS CARS, WE'VE BUILT THE SCENES AROUND THE CARS TO SHOW THEM WHAT THEY WERE IN THE TV SHOWS, AND THEN ADDED MEMORABILIA WITH THEM.

(MARC)>> NOW WE STARTED WITH THE BATMOBILE AND IT'S JUST FITTING THAT WE END WITH A BATMOBILE.

(TOMMY)>> ABSOLUTELY, NOW THIS PARTICULAR ONE IS FROM THE MICHAEL KEATON MOVIES, AND IT'S UNBELIEVABLE HOW BIG THIS THING IS, AND IT'S PLENTY COOL.

(MARC)>> YEAH, THIS MUSEUM IS AWESOME. WE'VE REALLY ENJOYED STOPPING HERE TO SEE ALL THESE CARS, BUT WE ARE IN GATLINBURG. SO LET'S GO SEE WHAT ELSE WE CAN FIND.

(TOMMY)>> I BET THERE'S PLENTY TO DO.

(MARC)>> HEY EVERYBODY, WELCOME BACK. WELL WE HAD ENOUGH FUN IN GATLINBURG. SO WE DECIDED SINCE WE WERE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD TO COME OUT HERE TO THE WOODS NEAR THE NORTH CAROLINATENNESSEE STATE LINE ON US 129.

(TOMMY)>> BETTER KNOWN AS "THE TAIL OF THE DRAGON". NOW THAT'S 318 TURNS IN 11 MILES, AND WITH OUR OLD CHEVELLE, YOU KNOW WE UPGRADED THE BRAKES, THE SUSPENSION, AND ALL THAT GOOD STUFF, AND US BEING THIS CLOSE WE HAD TO COME CHECK IT OUT.

(MARC)>> THE DRIVE FROM GATLINBURG, TO DEAL'S GAP, NORTH CAROLINA, WAS NO JOKE BECAUSE TO GET HERE WE WENT DOWN THE DRAGON ITSELF. IT'S SUPER POPULAR WITH THE MOTORCYCLE AND SPORTS CAR CROWDS, AND FOR GOOD REASON. THIS STRETCH OF US 129 IS NESTLED IN THE SMOKEY MOUNTAINS, WHICH IS A BEAUTIFUL AREA TO VISIT. IT'S A HECK OF A COMBINATION, THE GREAT OUTDOORS AND SOME SWEET RIDES. SO WE FIGURED THIS WOULD BE A GREAT PLACE TO BREAK IN OUR '72 CHEVELLE. SHE'S COME A LONG WAY FROM THAT BARN WE FOUND HER IN A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. SO WHY DON'T WE HOP IN AND TAKE HER DOWN THE DRAGON, ROAR!

THIS IS A NICE PLACE. I'LL DEFINITELY BE BACK HERE.

(TOMMY)>> SO MARC, WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE TWISTY TURNIES HERE?

(MARC)>> I THINK IT'S GREAT. YOU WOULDN'T THINK A CHEVELLE WOULD BE HANDLE STUFF LIKE THIS, BUT IT DOES SURPRISINGLY WELL.

(TOMMY)>> YEAH I KNOW, SITTING ON THIS SIDE, TURNING ON THE WHEEL, IT'S ALMOST EFFORTLESS, REALLY AND TRUTHFULLY. THE CAR TAKES WHAT YOU WANT, GOOD RIDING, GOOD DRIVING, IT'S GOT PLENTY OF POWER.

(MARC)>> JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF GAS.

(TOMMY)>> YEAH, THERE'S NOT REALLY THAT MANY GAS STATIONS EITHER OUT HERE. SO TOP IT OFF BEFORE YOU GET HERE IS PROBABLY A GOOD IDEA.

(MARC)>> YEAH, THE THING ABOUT A CAR LIKE THIS. IT IS PLENTY CAPABLE OF GOING OUT. IF YOU WANT TO TAKE IT TO THE DRAG STRIP YOU COULD, OR GO OUT AND HAMMER BETWEEN STOP LIGHTS, BUT I THINK OUT HERE IS WHERE IT REALLY SHINES BECAUSE IT IS SUCH A GREAT CRUISER. YOU CAN JUST CRUISE AROUND AND JUST KEEP IT LOW THROTTLE AND TAKE THE CURVES, OR YOU CAN HAMMER IT HARD IF YOU WANT, IT'LL TAKE IT.

(TOMMY)>> WELL I SURE HOPE YOU GUYS ENJOYED THE CHEVELLE BUILD BECAUSE I KNOW I DID. NOW THIS THING TURNED OUT PRETTY NICE, AND BEING ABLE TO COME OUT HERE ON A STRETCH OF ROAD LIKE THIS AND PUT IT THROUGH ITS PACES, WELL IT'S A WHOLE LOT OF FUN.

(MARC)>> THAT'S RIGHT, THIS CAR IS GORGEOUS. TOMMY DID A GREAT JOB ON THE PAINT. THE WHOLE BUILD WAS GREAT TOP TO BOTTOM, AND NOT ONLY DOES IT LOOK GOOD BUT IT HANDLES JUST AS WELL OUT HERE. IT WAS A BLAST. EVEN THOUGH I WAS IN THE PASSENGER'S SEAT THE WHOLE TIME, IT WAS STILL A LOT OF FUN.

(TOMMY)>> WELL I GUESS IT'S TIME FOR US TO HEAD BACK TO THE SHOP. SEE YOU GUYS LATER. [ engine revving ]

(MARC)>> WHEN YOU SEE THIS YELLOW BOTTLE AND LOGO YOU AUTOMATICALLY ANTIFREEZE RIGHT? WELL THAT'S BECAUSE PRESTONE PIONEERED AUTOMOTIVE ANTIFREEZE COOLANT OVER 90 YEARS AGO, AND THEY'RE STILL THE BIG DOG IN THE GAME. SO IF YOU'VE GOT A HOT ROD THAT YOU WANT TO NOT ONLY PROTECT AGAINST OVERHEATING AND FREEZING, BUT ALSO CORROSION, THEN YOU'LL WANT TO GRAB A BOTTLE OF THIS 50/50. THE CORE GUARD TECHNOLOGY CONTAINS CORROSION INHIBITORS, WHICH STOP THE SPREAD OF CORROSION. THIS STUFF MIXES WITH ANY TYPE OF COOLANT, BUT IF YOU WANT TO GET THE MOST BENEFIT THEN YOU'LL WANT TO FLUSH YOUR RADIATOR AND COOLING SYSTEM COMPLETELY, FILL IT WITH THIS, AND YOU'RE GOOD TO GO FOR UP TO FIVE YEARS OR 150,000 MILES, BUT THAT GREEN STUFF ISN'T THE ONLY PRODUCT THAT PRESTONE MAKES TO KEEP YOUR CAR IN TIP TOP SHAPE. THEY'VE GOT A BUNCH OF PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS FOR OTHER SYSTEMS IN YOUR CAR AS WELL, LIKE POWER STEERING FLUID, BOTH DOMESTIC AND IMPORT, AS WELL AS DOT THREE AND FOUR BRAKE FLUID, AS WELL AS MANY OTHER CHEMICALS. YOU CAN GO TO PRESTONE DOT COM TO LEARN MORE OR FIND THEM IN YOUR LOCAL PARTS STORE.
