(ANNOUNCER)>> TODAY ON DETROIT MUSCLE WE'LL GET

TO THE PIT OF THIS PLUM AS THE GUYS DO SOME INTERIOR WORK ON OUR '70 CHALLENGER ULTRA VIOLET. WE'LL ALSO MAKE A CUSTOM SUICIDE KNOB FOR BANANA SPLIT AND GO FOR A RIDE IN WHAT SOME SAY IS THE FASTEST FOUR SEAT MUSCLE CAR EVER BUILT.

(JOE)>> HEY GLAD YOU JOINED US. I THINK YOU WILL AGREE OUR '70 HEMI CHALLENGER PROJECT ULTRA VIOLET HERE IS LOOKING ULTRA PRETTY. BUT IT'S A CLASSIC CASE OF BEAUTY BEING SKIN DEEP, LITERALLY.

YOU SEE WE GOT THE PAINT AND MOST OF THE TRIM TAKEN

CARE OF BUT THE INTERIOR, WELL IN A WORD, IT'S LOOKING BARE.

(TOMMY)>> WE HAD TO WAIT UNTIL WE HAD OUR WIRING ALL SQUARED AWAY AND WE'RE PRETTY MUCH THERE. BUT BEFORE WE CAN THROW IN ALL THAT CARPET AND OTHER UPHOLSTERY, THERE'S ONE MORE ISSUE THAT WE HAVE TO ADDRESS. WE HAD TO WIDEN OUT OUR TUBS TO ACCOMMODATE OUR LARGER WHEELS AND TIRES, AND IN DOING SO WE MAY HAVE INVADED THE SPACE NORMALLY RESERVED FOR THE REAR SEAT. SO WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS SET THE SEAT FRAME INSIDE OF THE CAR AND JUST SEE IF THEY SIMPLY FIT. IF THEY DO, GREAT, WE CAN SEND THEM OUT AND HAVE THEM RECOVERED. IF THEY DON'T, WELL I GUESS WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO CUT THEM UP A BIT.

HERE YOU GO BIG GUY.

(JOE)>> OKAY, LET'S SEE WHAT WE'VE GOT HERE. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

(TOMMY)>> IT'S TOO EARLY TO TELL.

(JOE)>> THE ONLY PROBLEM IS HERE ON THE CORNER WHERE IT HITS THE WELL.

(TOMMY)>> A LITTLE CUTTING REQUIRED.

(JOE)>> A LITTLE CUTTING REQUIRED. LET'S SEE ABOUT THE BOTTOM. OKAY, MAYBE WE'LL GET LUCKY. [ metal clanging ]

(JOE)>> I THINK WE DID, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

(TOMMY)>> THAT'S BETTER THAN THE TOP ONE FOR SURE.

(JOE)>> YEP, WELL THERE WE GO.

(TOMMY)>> SO WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO IS PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD. WE'RE GONNA MAKE US A RELIEF CUT RIGHT ABOUT

HERE AND ANOTHER ONE UP TOP, AND THEN JUST BEND THIS OVER, WELD IT BACK TOGETHER.

(JOE)>> THE GOOD OLE BODY SAW IS A FINE CHOICE TO MAKE THESE MODS, STARTING WITH A COUPLE OF RELIEF CUTS TO ALLOW THE METAL TO BEND. THEN WE'LL CHOMP THROUGH THIS SPOT TO DETACH IT. WE'LL TORQUE THIS TAB OUT OF THE WAY. THEN WE CAN START PUSHING THE CORNER IN.

A LITTLE MORE TRIMMING TO ALLOW FOR ANOTHER BEND, AND WE CAN STRAIGHT OUT THE CURVE A LITTLE. THEN GET IT CLAMPED DOWN.

A FEW HAMMER BLOWS WILL ALLOW US TO REALLY MOVE THAT METAL INTO POSITION.

(TOMMY)>> NOW A SMALLER SET OF LOCKING PLIERS WILL HOLD THE CORNER IN PLACE WHILE WE MOVE OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE. THIS ONE IS A REPEAT OF THE PROCEDURE WE SHOWED YOU THE FIRST TIME AROUND. YOU'LL WANT TO DO THAT SO YOUR FRAME MAINTAINS SYMMETRY.

NO NEED FOR A WONKY LOOKING SEAT HERE.

(JOE)>> OF COURSE BEFORE YOU WELD YOU'LL WANT TO

TEST FIT YOUR MODIFICATIONS.

(TOMMY)>> THAT'LL DO IT.

(JOE)>> ONCE YOU'RE HAPPY, BURN IT ALL BACK TOGETHER.

(TOMMY)>> WITH THE REAR SEATS ALL TAKEN CARE OF IT'S TIME FOR US TO MOVE TO THE FRONT.

(JOE)>> WELL FOR THE FRONT SEATS WE WANTED A LITTLE BIT MORE SUPPORT, COMFORT, AND WELL RACY STYLING. SO WE OPTED FOR THESE BUCKET SEATS FROM CLASSIC INDUSTRIES THAT ARE A UNIVERSAL DESIGN, AND OF COURSE THEY COME WITH THEIR OWN SLIDER ASSEMBLIES. NOW THEY WORK WITH SOME CARS, BUT AS IS THE CASE WITH A LOT OF OLDER AFTERMARKET APPLICATIONS, WELL IT'S GONNA TAKE SOME MODIFICATIONS TO WORK WITH OUR MOPAR.

(TOMMY)>> WHENEVER MOUNTING A SET OF SEATS THERE'S A FEW THINGS THAT YOU WANT TO KEEP IN MIND. ONE OF THEM IS PLACEMENT. YOU DON'T WANT THE SEAT SITTING UP WAY TOO HIGH AND YOU DON'T WANT IT SITTING WAY TOO LOW. SECOND THING, YOU DON'T WANT THE TOP OF THE SEATS TO BE LEANING IN OR OUT BECAUSE LOOKING FRONT TO REAR OF THE CAR, WELL IT JUST LOOKS PLAIN RIGHT SILLY.

THE THIRD THING IS SAFETY. YOU'LL BE MOUNTING IT TO THE FLOOR AND WE ALL

HOPE THAT NOTHING EVER BAD HAPPENS. BUT IF YOU'RE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE SEAT COMES OUT, THAT'S GONNA BE REALLY BAD. OUR AFTERMARKET SEAT BRACKETS ARE MADE COMPLETELY OPPOSITE THAN WHAT ORIGINALLY CAME IN OUR MOPAR. THE BRACKET TAB ON THE FRONT IS VERTICAL WHERE THE FLOOR OF OUR CAR, WELL IT'S ALL HORIZONTAL. BUT TO GET THERE FROM HERE WHAT WE'RE GONNA USE IS A COUPLE OF THESE ANGLE IRON PIECES, A LITTLE BIT OF WELDING AND GRINDING, WE'LL HAVE IT FIXED UP IN A JIFFY. WELL WE'RE GONNA SET THE SEAT JUST FLAT ON THE FLOOR AND I'M GONNA TRY IT ON TO SEE HOW IT FITS. WELL IT FEELS LIKE WE'RE AT THE RIGHT HEIGHT, WE JUST NEED TO GET IT ALL LEVELED OUT AND WE'LL BE GOOD TO GO.

(JOE)>> LET'S START BY LEVELING IT OUT. ONCE WE HAVE A GOOD IDEA OF HOW IT NEEDS TO SIT THE FIRST BRACKET CAN GO INTO A FRONT MOUNTING HOLE ON THE FLOOR. THEN WORKING OFF THAT WE CAN LEVEL IT AGAIN AND INSERT THE BRACKET INTO THE OTHER FRONT HOLE. WE'LL CLAMP THAT INTO PLACE NOW AND ONTO THE REAR.

(TOMMY)>> SINCE THE SEAT IS ALREADY LEVELED, THE BACK BRACKETS WILL BE EASIER TO DEAL WITH.

WE'LL JUST NEED TO MAKE SURE IT'S STILL WHERE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE WHEN THEY'RE BOLTED ON. SINCE IT LOOKS GOOD, WE CAN GO AHEAD AND TACK THE

MOUNTS TO THE EXISTING SEAT BRACKETS. ONE LAST THING THAT WE'RE GONNA DO IS CONNECT THE

FRONT AND REAR "L" BRACKETS WITH THIS FLAT

BAR THAT WE FASHIONED UP. THAT'S JUST EIGHTH INCH THICK BY THREE QUARTER FLAT BAR. AND ONCE WE WELD THEM IN PLACE IT'LL GIVE THOSE "L" BRACKETS A LITTLE BIT MORE STRUCTURE. [ welder crackling ]

(ANNOUNCER)>> AFTER THE BREAK WE'LL SHOW YOU A SECRET TRICK FOR CLEANING CORRODED COPPER CONTACTS, STICK AROUND!

(JOE)>> HEY WE ARE BACK AND READY TO GET BUSY ON THE CENTER PIECE OF OUR CHALLENGER'S INTERIOR, THE DASH. NOW WE ARE REPLACING THE STOCK PANEL WITH THIS SIX GAUGE SETUP WE GOT FROM SUMMIT RACING. NOW CLASSIC THUNDER ROAD MAKES THESE THINGS WITH THREE DIFFERENT FINISHES, MATTE BLACK, CARBON FIBER, AND THIS BRUSHED ALUMINUM LIKE WE GOT. NOW OF COURSE YOU GET THE SIX CUSTOM GAUGES WITH THIS THING AND A WIRING HARNESS TO MAKE EVERYTHING WORK. ONE COOL THING ABOUT THIS SETUP IS THE EASE OF INSTALLATION. THE GAUGES BOLT INTO PLACE VERY EASILY, JUST MAKE SURE THEY'RE STRAIGHT IN THE HOUSING. THEN THE HARNESS COMES WITH THE PRELABELED WIRES THAT TAKES THE GUESS WORK OUT OF GETTING IT PLUGGED ALL TOGETHER. WELL IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING INSTALLING THE WIRES ON THE GAUGES HERE ON THE BENCH MAKES LIFE A LOT EASIER. NOW ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS PLUG THE HARNESS IN UNDER THE DASH ONCE WE GET THIS THING IN THE CAR. WELL FROM NEW PARTS TO OLD PARTS, THESE ARE SOME WE

SALVAGED OFF THE CHALLENGER TO REUSE. THINGS LIKE WELL THIS LITTLE TRIM PIECE, AND REMEMBER ASH TRAYS? FIRST OF ALL THOUGH WE'VE GOT TO GET THEM CLEANED UP.

(TOMMY)>> WE LIKE TO USE SOME DUPLICOLOR WAX AND GREASE REMOVER FOR THIS TYPE OF PROJECT BECAUSE IT REMOVES THE GRIME WITHOUT BEING TOO HARSH. IF YOU GET TOO AGGRESSIVE WITH YOUR CLEANING AGENT, IT CAN ACTUALLY EAT INTO THE PLASTIC. A SMALL BRUSH IS ALSO HANDY FOR THE TINY CREVICES LIKE YOU SEE ON THIS KNOB.

(JOE)>> THE METAL PIECES, SPECIFICALLY THE ASH TRAY, CAN BE TOSSED IN THE BLASTING CABINET AND BLASTED CLEAN. WELL I GUESS THESE THINGS ARE CLEAN ENOUGH FOR SOME PAINT WORK. AND SPEAKING OF THAT COULD YOU HELP OUT.

(TOMMY)>> I BELIEVE I CAN HANDLE THAT MISTER JOE.

(JOE)>> OKAY, I'VE GOT TO CLEAN UP THIS OLD DASH.

(TOMMY)>> ALRIGHTY, WELL THE FIRST THING WE'RE GONNA DO IS START SPRAYING THE... [ metal scraping the floor ] [ metal hitting the floor]

(JOE)>> IT'S OKAY, I'M ALRIGHT.

(TOMMY)>> TO REJUVENATE OUR OLD PIECES WE'RE GONNA BE USING SOME OF THIS DUPLICOLOR TRIM PAINT. NOW IT'LL GIVE US THAT NICE, EVEN SEMIGLOSS BLACK THAT A LOT OF THOSE COMPONENTS CAME WITH. THIS TRIM PAINT WORKS ON BOTH PLASTIC AND METAL, WHICH IS GOOD BECAUSE IT WILL KEEP OUR PIECES LOOKING THE SAME.

NOW WHILE ALL THAT STUFF IS DRYING WE'RE GONNA MOVE ON TO OUR ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. NOW ONE THING THAT'S NOT TOO COOL ABOUT OUR OLD MOPAR IS YOU CAN'T BUY REPLACEMENT SWITCHES UNLESS YOU FIND NEW OLD STOCK.

AND WHENEVER YOU WORK WITH THESE OLD ONES AND THE CAR'S BEEN SETTING FOR A WHILE, WE KNOW THAT THEM THINGS CORRODE AND KINDA TARNISH, AND THEY

DON'T WORK PROPERLY. BUT THERE IS A WAY TO SAVE THESE OLD JEWELS. USING A SIMPLE METER, TURNING IT TO A CONTINUITY SETTING, WE CAN TEST THE SWITCH. NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT POSITION THE SWITCH IS IN AT THE MOMENT BUT WE OUGHT TO HAVE SOME FORM OF SOME TYPE OF BEEPING RIGHT NOW. CYCLE THE SWITCH, SEE IF ANYTHING CHANGES.

MAKE SURE THAT WORKS. [ beeping ]

(TOMMY)>> WELL WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE MORE OF THOSE TERMINALS HOT THAN WHAT WE'VE GOT. SO IT NEEDS TO COME APART.

THIS CAN BE THE SCARY PART, BUT WITH A LITTLE PATIENCE AND FINESSE YOU CAN GET IT APART WITHOUT BREAKING IT. TAKE A LOOK AT THAT NASTY OLD GREASE ON THOSE CONTACTS. WE'LL NEED TO CLEAN THESE LITTLE COPPER DUDES UP TOO. WELL OUR CONTACTS DEFINITELY DON'T LOOK THE GREATEST. THE BRASS ONES ARE ALL GOOEY AND THESE COPPER ONES, WELL THEY'RE FAR FROM A NEW BRIGHT SHINNY PENNY. NOW TO CLEAN ALL THIS STUFF UP I'M GONNA USE SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN FIND IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR PROBABLY, AND THAT IS SOME LEMON JUICE.

WE'RE GONNA WIPE OFF ALL THIS DIELECTRIC GREASE TO GET IT OUT OF THE WAY SO IT'LL CLEAN UP A LOT BETTER. OUR TWO COPPER CONTACTS, AND FOR FUN WE'RE GONNA SEE HOW IT CLEANS UP THESE OLD PENNIES.

(JOE)>> IT DOESN'T TAKE LONG FOR THE PIECES TO START BUBBLING IN OUR JUICY SOLUTION.

AFTER ABOUT FOUR HOURS WE'LL SEE HOW WELL THIS IDEA WORKS.

(TOMMY)>> AFTER LETTING IT SIT FOR JUST A BIT LET'S POUR IT OUT AND SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.

WELL YOU CAN SEE THEY LOOK A WHOLE LOT BETTER THAN THEY DID BEFORE. NOW WE'RE JUST GONNA TAKE A LITTLE BIT OF DIELECTRIC GREASE FROM LOCTITE AND REAPPLY IT TO THE CONTACT. ALRIGHT, LET'S SEE IF IT WORKS. [ beeping ]

(TOMMY)>> THAT MUST BE THE PARKING LIGHT. [ beeping ]

(TOMMY)>> THE HEADLIGHT CIRCUIT, THAT FIXED IT. WELL FIXING THAT SWITCH WASN'T THAT BIG OF A DEAL AND IT PROBABLY SAVED US $50 OR MAYBE

EVEN $100 BUCKS. IN ALL REALITY THE ONLY THING IT COST US WAS THE LEMON JUICE. AND NOW THE WIFE'S YELLING BECAUSE I USED IT ALL UP.

(ANNOUNCER)>> COMING UP, GO FAST WITH CLASS IN THIS BIG, BAD BUICK!

(JOE)>> WHAT WOULD YOU GUESS IS THE FASTEST FOUR SEATER OF THE MUSCLE CAR ERA? THE GTO, BOSS MUSTANG, NO WAIT, IT'S GOT TO BE A HEMI CAR RIGHT? NOPE, WOULD YOU BELIEVE THE ONE THAT BEAT THEM ALL WAS, GET THIS, A BUICK! THE CAR WAS A '70 GS STAGE ONE.

(TOMMY)>> WELL AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT MUSCLE CAR REVIEW CLAIMED BACK IN 1984, AND IT RAISED THE EYEBROWS AND BLOOD PRESSURE OF MANY FOLKS, ESPECIALLY CHRYSLER FANS. THE RANKING WAS BASED ON A COMPILATION OF ALL THE ELAPSED TIMES RECORDED BY THE MAJOR CAR MAGS BACK IN THE DAY.

(JOE)>> MOTOR TREND CLOCKED A 13.38 ET AT

105 MILES AN HOUR IN THE QUARTER MILE, EDGING OUT A '68 HEMI CHARGER'S 13.5. ZERO TO 60 TOOK JUST FIVE AND A HALF SECONDS.

(TOMMY)>> THE STAGE ONE OPTION WAS A BARGAIN AT

JUST $200 BUCKS. IT TRANSFORMED THE ALREADY POTENT 455 INTO A DEADLY WEAPON.

(JOE)>> BUICK ADDED A HIGH LIFT CAM SHAFT WITH LONGER DURATION.

THE HEADS HAD A HIGHER 10.5 TO ONE COMPRESSION, AND WERE MACHINED WITH LARGER PORTS. PLUS THE INTAKE AND EXHAUST VALVES WERE OVERSIZED AS WELL AS THE TAIL PIPES. INITIAL TIMING WAS SET AT 10 DEGREES INSTEAD OF SIX, AND A HEAVY DUTY RADIATOR WAS THROWN IN TO HANDLE THE EXTRA HEAT FROM THE MOTOR.

(TOMMY)>> TWIN HOOD SCOOPS FED COOL AIR THROUGH STYROFOAM SEALED PORTS DIRECTLY INTO THE AIR CLEANER. THAT WAS STOCK GS BUT STAGE ONE'S GOT A ROCHESTER QUADRAJET WITH BIGGER JETS.

(JOE)>> BUICK CLAIMED THE STAGE ONE ONLY ADDED 10 HORSEPOWER BUT THAT WAS JUST TO BEAT THE INSURANCE WRAP. TOTAL OUTPUT WAS REALLY BOOSTED FROM 350

TO WELL OVER 400.

(TOMMY)>> NOW HORSEPOWER IS ONE THING, BUT TORQUE IS WHAT GETS YOU OFF THE LINE FASTER, AND THIS BEAST WAS A TORQUE MONSTER. TRY 510 FOOT POUNDS, AND IT MADE ALL THAT AT JUST 2,800 RPM.

(JOE)>> THE STAGE ONE OPTION GOT YOU A POSITRACTION REAR END WITH 3.64 GEARS. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS A LA CARTE, LIKE THE HURST FOUR SPEED AND RALLY GAUGES. EVEN THE HEAVY DUTY SUSPENSION WASN'T INCLUDED.

(TOMMY)>> BUICK KEPT THE CAR LOW KEY, NO STRIPES OR GRAPHICS. THE ONLY OUTSIDE MARKINGS WERE THE STAGE ONE BADGES ON THE FENDERS. OTHER THAN THAT IT LOOKED JUST LIKE A STOCK GS.

(JOE)>> THAT MADE THE STAGE ONE KIND OF A SLEEPER, AND IT WAS EASILY OVERLOOKED.

(JOHN)>> WELL BACK THEN, AND EVEN TODAY, PEOPLE DON'T THINK OF BUICK AND PERFORMANCE IN THE SAME BREATH.

(TOMMY)>> BUICK ONLY MANAGED TO MOVE

ABOUT 3,000 OF THEM. WAY LESS THAN OTHER CARS IN THE SAME PRICE RANGE.

(JOHN)>> WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THE LOW PRODUCTION

NUMBERS, THE MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE THAT YOU GET RIGHT AT THE TOP OF THE HEAP, LUXURY, YOU DON'T GET ANY BETTER. YOU'VE GOT EVERYTHING SEWED UP IN ONE PACKAGE.

(JOE)>> EVER SINCE THE CAR WAS RANKED FASTEST FOUR SEATER FOLKS HAVE BEEN FIGHTING OVER WHETHER IT WAS REALLY TRUE. BUT IN OUR RECORD BOOK THE TITLE IS STILL UP FOR GRABS.

(JOE)>> YOU SEE THIS? WELL SOME COOL CATS MIGHT CALL IT A STEERING WHEEL KNOB, OTHERS A SUICIDE KNOB. WHATEVER YOU CALL IT, THE IDEA IS TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE WITH YOUR LEFT HAND WHILE YOU PUT YOUR RIGHT ONE AROUND YOUR MAIN SQUEEZE. WELL EVERY CUSTOM CAR NEEDS ONE AND SO DOES OUR '49 FORD. FOR SOME REASON THE EIGHT BALL IS THE MOST COMMON, AND WELL YOU CAN BUY ONES LIKE THIS, OR THIS READY TO ATTACH AND DRIVE. BUT SINCE OUR PROJECT BANANA SPLIT SCREAMS YELLOW, WE'VE GOT SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE ORIGINAL. IT'S A REAL SLIGHTLY USED NINE BALL THAT JUST HAPPENS TO MATCH THE COLOR OF THE CAR. OF COURSE SUCH CREATIVE GENIUS LIKE WE CAME UP

WITH COMES AT A PRICE RIGHT?

(TOMMY)>> THAT'S RIGHT.

(JOE)>> WHAT DO WE GOT TO DO?

(TOMMY)>> WELL I GUESS WE'VE GOT TO GET THIS ONE APART FIRST. SO THE FIRST THING IS GONNA BE TO REMOVE THIS LITTLE BITY SCREW SO THAT WE CAN REMOVE THAT CHROME BRACKET THAT ATTACHES IT TO THE STEERING WHEEL. WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAVE IS THAT LITTLE BRADED PIECE IN THIS SWIVEL. I COULD PROBABLY PRESS THIS THING OUT OR PULL IT WITH SOME LITTLE SMALL PULLER BUT I'M SCARED

THAT I'LL END UP DAMAGING THE PIECE. SO I'M JUST GONNA HAVE TO CUT IT WITH A SAW.

(JOE)>> NOW YOU MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO DO THIS SO EASILY IF IT WERE A REAL EIGHT BALL. BUT SINCE IT'S HOLLOW, IT'S NO BIG DEAL TO GET THE INSERT OUT OF IT. WITH IT CUT MOST OF THE WAY AROUND, WE'LL JUST PRY IT APART AND TADA!

(TOMMY)>> NOW AS FOR THE NINE BALL, THIS IS A REAL POOL BALL MADE SOLID OUT OF PLASTIC. USE A GOOD DRILL BIT LIKE THIS ONE WE GOT FROM KANKUT AND JUST TAKE YOUR TIME WITH RELATIVELY LIGHT PRESSURE TO DRILL IT OUT. THEN WE'LL USE THE ARBOR PRESS TO INSTALL THE INSERT, EASY AS PIE. WELL ALRIGHT, WE'VE GOT OURSELVES A PERSONALIZED SUICIDE KNOB.

(JOE)>> THE SIXTH GEN FIVEZERO MUSTANGS ARE A POWERFUL MUSCLE CAR RIGHT FROM THE FACTORY THESE DAYS BUT GIBSON PERFORMANCE WANTS TO GIVE THEM AN EXTRA SHOT OF POWER WITH THIS. IT'S THEIR NEW CAT BACK EXHAUST SYSTEM GOOD FOR 32 HORSEPOWER, 34 FOOT POUNDS OF TORQUE. IT FEATURES A THREE INCH HPIPE THAT FEEDS INTO A PAIR OF SUPER FLOW MUFFLERS WITH CFT TECHNOLOGY FOR THAT THROATY SOUND. ALL COMES OUT OF A PAIR OF FOUR AND A HALF INCH POLISHED TIPS. NOW THIS MUSTANG EXHAUST SYSTEM IS A DIRECT FIT BOLT ON, WHICH GIBSON BACKS WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY.

(TOMMY)>> WOULDN'T YOU RATHER USE A NEW HIGH QUALITY QUARTER PANEL INSTEAD OF TRYING TO PATCH ONE? AMD PANELS ARE LICENSED THROUGH GM AND MOPAR RESTORATION PROGRAMS AND THIS ONE IS FOR A '69 BARRACUDA. THEY USE OE GAUGE STEEL AND INCLUDE ALL THE CORRECT CLIPS, TABS, FLANGES, BENDS, AND SEAMS. EACH PROTOTYPE IS PROFESSIONALLY TEST FITTED UNTIL IT'S PERFECT. CHECK OUT THEIR ONLINE CATALOG TO SEE WHAT OTHER AMD PARTS WILL MAKE YOUR BUILD A CLASSIC SUCCESS.

(JOE)>> ALRIGHT HERE'S THE SITUATION. YOU'RE OUT ON THE ROAD COURSE COMPETING, LOTS OF HARD CORNERING, QUICK STOPS, RAPID ACCELERATION. FUEL GETS AWAY FROM THE FUEL PICK UP, AIR GETS IN THE SYSTEM, YOU'RE ENGINE PERFORMS POORLY. IT MIGHT EVEN STALL. HOLLEY'S NEW HYDRAMAT USES SURFACE TENSION AND FLUID WICKING TO DRAW FUEL FROM ALMOST ANY AREA THAT CONTACTS IT. THEN IT STORES THAT FUEL IN AN INTERNAL RESERVOIR. THAT ELIMINATES THE NEED FOR ANY SPECIALTY RESERVOIRS OR PICK UPS. YOU CAN GET A HOLLEY HYDRAMAT TO ACCOMMODATE ALMOST ANY FUEL TANK SIZE, SHAPE, OR OPENING. WELL IF YOU'RE OPEN TO IT WE'LL BE BACK WITH ANOTHER DETROIT MUSCLE NEXT TIME. WE'LL SEE YOU THEN.
