Project Night Shift is a no-nonsense diesel dually with a big attitude and even bigger plans. What started as a worn-out 1993 Dodge Ram W350 with a 12-valve Cummins has been fully transformed by the crew at Music City Trucks into a purpose-built shop truck ready to work as hard as it looks. Faded paint, tired wiring, and a few mystery mechanical issues couldn’t keep this square-body beast from getting a second lease on life—and it’s come back swinging.

The guys didn’t waste any time tearing into the dually. Off came the battered bed and crusty interior. Years of grime and wear had taken their toll, but underneath was a solid frame and drivetrain worth building on. The Cummins diesel engine, known for its legendary reliability and torque, was still in good shape—but that didn’t stop the crew from adding some modern upgrades. A new turbo was plumbed in, and while they were at it, they tackled everything from custom bead-rolled tubing to freshly routed brake lines, giving the old Dodge a new level of refinement and reliability.

Backing up all that power is a heavy-duty transmission and transfer case combo from ATS Drivetrain. With added strength and durability, the upgraded drivetrain is built to handle serious towing and highway miles without breaking a sweat. Whether it’s pulling a trailer or just running daily errands, Night Shift’s drivetrain is overbuilt for anything thrown its way.

Inside the cab, the dated interior was stripped down and brought up to speed. The wiring, a common failure point in these trucks, was replaced and cleaned up to avoid future headaches. The stock bench seat was tossed in favor of a full TMI Products interior setup, including new low-back bucket seats that offer way more support and comfort. The updated upholstery adds a modern touch while still fitting the truck’s utilitarian vibe. Even the door panels got the TMI treatment, giving the interior a cohesive, fresh look without losing its original charm.

Visually, the truck got a major attitude adjustment thanks to custom bumpers from Alderman Manufacturing. Both front and rear bumpers are built tough and styled to match the truck’s rugged purpose. They’re clean, functional, and give the dually an aggressive stance without going over the top.

One of the more satisfying transformations came in the form of the freshly painted dually bed. After repairs and prep work, the massive dual rear fenders were color-matched and reinstalled, giving the truck a cohesive, clean look without losing any of its rugged character. Custom exhaust routing and fuel system tweaks were handled next, ensuring this rig would not only look the part but run strong for years to come.

Once reassembled, the truck hit the road for its first shake-down run. The new turbo spooled quickly, the suspension rode solid, and every upgrade came together like clockwork. More than just a shop project, Night Shift is a rolling example of what happens when diesel power meets hands-on fabrication and attention to detail.

Built to haul, tow, and turn heads, Project Night Shift is now a permanent part of the PowerNation garage. With a beefed-up ATS drivetrain, a stylish and supportive TMI interior, and aggressive Alderman bumpers leading the way, this old Dodge proves that work trucks can still look mean and perform even meaner. It’s not a show queen or trailer princess—it’s a blue-collar bruiser built for real work and real fun.
