The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept Makes its SEMA Debut

The Dodge exhibit at SEMA 2022 has certainly been one of the most popular attractions during the three-day event. For good reason as well. Fans and enthusiasts are able to view six of the seven limited-edition 2023 ‘Last Call’ Charger and Challenger models in person before they all disappear. Plus, it is also the SEMA debut of its centerpiece, the world’s first fully-electric muscle car: the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept.

The specific Charger on display comes in Dodge’s new tri-coat Stryker Red, featuring its new 18-inch Direct Connection lightweight carbon-fiber concept wheels with 305mm drag radials, and is accompanied by a Stage 2 Banshee performance upgrade as hinted by its fender badging.

“The SEMA Show is one of the great gatherings of the performance culture, and Dodge isn’t going to shy away as we develop the next generation of muscle car – one that just happens to be fully electric,” says Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis in a statement. “Technology moves forward and the customizers and tuners move right along with it. We’re demonstrating how old-school hot-rodding will thrive in an electrified muscle-car future.”

Dodge is also using its appearance at SEMA to announce nine possible powertrain outputs designed for the EV muscle car. Three different battery-electric power levels will be shown at SEMA, as well as an additional two levels of Dodge Direct Connection upgrades at each power level. Overall, the 400-volt system output ranges from 340 kilowatts to 500 kilowatts, producing between 455 horsepower to 670 horsepower. There is also an unofficial 800-volt SRT Banshee powertrain package that has yet to be announced by the brand.
