Tennessee man owns 1959 Saladin armored vehicle

Believe it or not, this is 1959 Saladin armed vehicle is street legal.

An East Tennessee man purchased it for $35,000 after its last assignment protecting the British Embassy in Hong Kong, and Bill Arnett said he’s since put $300,000 into restoring it.

According to a story from News Channel 5, it has two fully-operational 30-caliber guns and a 76mm main gun, and reaches speeds up to 45 mph.

However, at just 3 miles per gallon, you’re not going to get too far.

Arnett told the news station that he hopes to use it in parades and for educational purposes. And if he can get the insurance, he’d like to give children rides in it.
