Ram Recalling Over 100,000 Diesel Pickups

Ram is recalling 107,000 diesel-powered Ram 1500 trucks in the U.S. after reports of several fires caused by cracked emissions-control components resulting in four minor injuries. Fiat Chrysler has reported that the injuries were sustained when owners were attempting to put out fires themselves.

The issue doesn’t affect the latest-generation Ram 1500 that was introduced on 2014-2019 models that were marketed in 2019 as the Ram 1500 Classic.

Recall notices will be sent to owners soon. Until then, it is recommended that owners keep an eye on their vehicle’s coolant levels and contact their dealer if problems arise.
