PowerNation Week #47 – Buick Superliner!

Checkout this gorgeous 1947 convertible Buick Superliner! This week on PowerNation Courtney will feature this retro-restored Buick unlike any you have ever seen. Owner Dale Turner found this gem in a barn just 5 miles from his home, but it was another 15 years until he was ready to bring it back to life. He turned to Garrett Kitchen in Columbus, Ohio to handle all the work which took 6 years in total.

The windshield is laid back four inches and the hood is pie cut three inches and now opens from the front. It’s powered by an LS-6 with a Magnuson supercharger that makes 700 horsepower. It rides on a Corvette C-4 suspension with Air Ride. The Paul Atkins interior is a true throwback to the art deco style of the 20s with Tan leather seats that swivel and Ambrosia Maple wood throughout. There are lots of chrome accents, a custom console and gorgeous custom steering wheel and Classic Instruments built the one-off gauges.

Sweeping body curves separate those big 22-inch EVOD wheels and Goodyear tires. And out front, the grill teeth are original, but believe it or not, the upper and lower bumpers are fiberglass and they’ve been plated with real chrome. And the whole package is wrapped in DuPont Black. This is one of the more spectacular builds we’ve ever showcased on PowerNation! Plus Ian Johnson will drop in to preview the all new 2015 Xtreme Off Road season kicking off January 3rd. It’s a full block of car and truck tech, so check it out this week.
