New Nürburgring Lap Record Set By 500 HP Tractor

There’s nowhere like the Nürburgring to take a machine to put it to the test. So that’s exactly where the owners of this Claas Xerion 5000 VC tractor took it to show off its 500 horsepower.

The XERION houses a 12.8-liter six-cylinder engine that pushes out over 500 horsepower and 1,918 pound-feet of torque while weighing in at over 38,000 pounds. While this tractor set a record it was by no means a fast lap. The tractor was piloted by Christian Menzel and clocked in at 24 minutes and 50.57 seconds. The clocked top speed was 31 miles per hour.

So although it’s not a video filled with speed and precision, it’s definitely a fun to watch!
