Legend Charlie Daniels Passes Away At Age 83

Country music and southern rock legend Charlie Daniels passed away on Monday morning at the age of 83. While Daniels is known for his musical talents, we were lucky enough to have him as a friend of PowerNation, a fellow Nashvillian, and a guest on our show, Search & Restore.

Daniels gave back by surprising the family of 8 who was featured on Search & Restore back in 2011. When the family traveled to Tennessee to pick up their restored GMC 1500, they also made a trip to the Grand Ole Opry where Daniels provided a meet and greet before the show.

He was best known for his signature song “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Over the course of his career, Daniels was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Daniels placed 34 songs on the Billboard Country charts.

Daniels was also very involved in his community. He was a firm supporter of the military and gave his time and talent to numerous charitable organizations.

Doctors determined the cause of death was a hemorrhagic stroke. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.
