Jeep Gets Swept Down River After Driver Attempts To Cross

A Jeep driver tried (and failed) to cross the Dolores River which has led to an investigation by the San Miguel Sheriff’s Office and Bureau of Land Management.

Aaron Edwards was boating when he caught the incident on camera and reported that a group of kayakers were able to bring the driver to shore, even though the Jeep was submerged all the way up to the roof. It’s speculated that the Jeep driver attempted to cross at a properly designated point, however, the trail is only passable at low water and after heavy rain, it was misjudged.

The Jeep came to a stop 100 hundred yards downstream and the driver reportedly claimed he would extract the vehicle from the water but if he’s unable to do so, it will be done at his expense.
