Because the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro will be retired from production, this muscle car intends on going out with a bang. Chevrolet already announced that the 2024 Camaro will feature a limited-edition Panther trim as a tribute to one of the earliest renditions of the car. Now, to give a nod to the Camaro’s racing history, GM will be releasing a limited-production 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 as the Garage 56 edition.

Three of the most skilled drivers in the world are set to roll out in the Garage 56 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at Le Mans this weekend. However, 56 lucky people will be able to own the street-legal version of this race car. Set to enter production later in 2023, the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition is designed to celebrate the accomplishment of running a NASCAR Cup Camaro ZL1 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

In collaboration with NASCAR, Hendrick Motorsports, Chevrolet, Goodyear, and IMSA (International Motor Sports Association), the Garage 56 project aims to bring the strongest collection of team members, manufacturer leads, and tire brands in the 75-year history of NASCAR.

“Even though Chevrolet has been racing since its inception in 1911, we’ve never done anything quite like Garage 56,” said General Motors President Mark Reuss in a statement.

While the Garage 56 project is meant to be a huge milestone for Chevrolet and its partners, the automaker’s Performance Design Studio was also tasked with bringing the same energy of this race car into a limited-edition street car.

“When adapting a race car appearance into a production car, you want to showcase themes, proportions and colors without making the car look out of place on the street,” says Marc Mainville, senior manager of the GM Motorsport Design Studio. “The Garage 56 Edition captures the feeling of the race car while allowing the car’s athletic lines to be in the forefront.”

To bring the look and aesthetic of the track version to the regular production version of the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the new and bold Riptide Blue exterior color is accompanied by thin gold accents, and a unique graphics package that runs very similar to the race car. On the hood is the NASCAR 75th Anniversary logo, a black-and-gray American flag on the engine cowl that extends from the hood to the roof, and a signature Garage 56 badge found on the front fenders, replacing the standard Camaro badging.

Additionally, the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition features Satin mirrors, black fuel door with carbon fiber inserts, and Garage 56 emblems on the car’s floormats and steering wheel.

Just like the race car, the Garage 56 Edition Camaro will include the ZL1’s LT4 V-8 small black engine that generates 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.

As a limited-edition 2024 Chevrolet Camaro, the Garage 56 Edition will enter production in late 2023 and only 56 produced units will be available for the U.S. market.
