RTM Studios’ “POWERNATION” Franchise Set to Anchor “DRIVE” on HISTORY®

Franklin, TN – November 1, 2018 – RTM Studios, a Raycom Media Company and producer of “POWERNATION,” announced today that America’s #1 automotive how-to television franchise “POWERNATION” will anchor the Sunday morning “DRIVE” automotive programming block on HISTORY® in 2019. “POWERNATION” has become synonymous with Sunday morning television success by reaching millions of enthusiasts each week with popular shows Engine Power, XOR, Truck Tech, and Detroit Muscle.

“DRIVE” is a dedicated programming block built to cater to the passions of auto enthusiasts. As a leader in the automotive programming category, A+E Networks® has achieved success with hit series like HISTORY’s “Counting Cars,” “Truck Night in America,” and programming events like “Car Week,” HISTORY’s best performing programming stunt of 2018, which included “Evel Live,” currently cable’s #1 Special YTD*.

“DRIVE” accelerates A+E’s auto-themed content strategy by bringing some of the biggest hits in automotive programming together with original short form, branded content, and digital elements to create a highly curated destination for auto enthusiasts. “DRIVE” initially began airing on HISTORY® on Sunday mornings and has recently expanded to FYI® on Saturdays in primetime.

“We are thrilled to announce the expansion of “DRIVE” with such a strong slate of RTM Studios shows for our highly-engaged, auto junkie fan base,” said Christian Murphy, Senior Vice President, Enthusiast Brands & Programming Partnerships. “Together with our massive library of hit car and truck themed programming, this new partnership rounds out the already popular offering with a fresh new franchise, trusted talent and a new, how-to programming angle. We are thrilled to be the new home of “POWERNATION,” and to be partnering with Matthew Hawkins and his outstanding team. We look forward to welcoming their legions of fans who have followed the “POWERNATION” franchise for decades.”

“With 20+ years of success in automotive programming serving the enthusiast community, it’s an exciting opportunity to join the HISTORY® lineup,” RTM Studios President Matthew Hawkins said. “The fans of “POWERNATION” will continue to get the highest quality, automotive how-to programming and “POWERNATION” will maintain a deep engagement with the automotive aftermarket community.”
