2023 will be a bittersweet year for muscle car fans as it will mark the end of an era for the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger before transitioning from a V8 engine to EV. Along with its desirable “Last Call” line of cars, it has been revealed that the 6-speed manual transmission will be returning to the SRT Hellcat.

The manual transmission was originally removed by Dodge in November 2021 due to issues surrounding its powertrain calibrations. Thankfully, the manual transmission will be returning to the muscle car once again before the V8 engine takes its final bow. Future buyers will be met with some other fierce competitors looking to get their hands on a “Last Call” model, and locating one with a manual transmission will certainly make acquiring one even harder.

It is unknown whether Dodge will charge more for a third pedal, but the car’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine will continue to produce 717 horsepower and 656 lb-ft of torque.
