Creator Of Automotive Spy Photography, Jim Dunne, Has Passed Away

Another pioneer of the automotive industry has passed away. Jim Dunne helped bring the concept of automotive spy shots to life died on Aug. 19th at the age of 87.

If you aren’t familiar with them, automotive spy photography is all about getting photographs of never seen before test mules and then selling them to automotive media outlets. That way gearheads can speculate what is actually underneath all the camo and wrapping and drive themselves nuts until the vehicle is debuted.

Spy photography has taken off dramatically in the automotive community with almost every new vehicle in testing having photos spread around on the internet. None of it would have been possible without the work of Mr. Dunne.
