California Bill
Although the “new” bill affecting exhaust noise went into effect January 1st, it’s actually been the law for several years…just not well enforced. Basically, if your car weighs less than 6,000 lbs. and you have a modified exhaust it needs to register less than 95 decibels. The new amendment allows police to fine violating drivers immediately instead of giving them a chance to fix it. So if you’re a CA resident and have a car 1976 and newer with an exhaust that police may notice, a fine may be headed your way.

2020 Supra
After several leaks and teases, the 2020 Toyota Supra has made its debut. It houses a turbocharged inline-six with RWD. It pushes out 335 HP and 365 lb.-ft. torque with a 0-60 time of 4.1 seconds and a 155 mph top speed. It’s officially the quickest Toyota-brand car ever. Being Priced at $50,920 for the base model…would you buy it?

Shelby GT500
The most powerful Mustang ever created has been debuted in Detroit! The Mustang Shelby GT500 houses a 5.2-liter V8 puts out over 700 HP. It runs the ¼ mile in under 11 seconds. There will be 3 packages available to choose from: the Base model, Handling package, or if you really want to get fancy, the Carbon Fiber Track Package. New colors include Twister Orange, Red Hot, and Iconic Silver. We’re still waiting on final performance numbers, mpg, and pricing but stay tuned!

Bird Box Fail
If you haven’t seen the Netflix movie “Bird Box” it’s a film that has set off another challenge. The characters in the movie have to navigate everything blindfolded, and the challenge has become a hit for people to attempt to do every day tasks blindfolded. The Layton City Police Department report that a 17 and 16 year old were driving down a major roadway while blindfolded attempting to participate in the challenge. Unsurprisingly, the teen lost control, crossed the center line and hit another vehicle. Luckily nobody was injured but Netflix has now had to put out a statement asking people to not perform dangerous tasks blindfolded…DUH!

2019 Ram
Ram’s new Heavy Duty truck is the “most powerful and capable pickup in its class”. The truck has a peak torque of 1,000 lb.-ft., 400 HP, and a towing capacity of 35,100 lbs. The truck made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show. It has a new-gen inline-six diesel and over 100 safety and security features. For more information, you find the full spec sheet here!
