The Uber Ruling Is The First Of Its Kind For U.S.
Since the fatal accident of a woman being hit by an Uber car in autonomous mode there’s been one big question: who’s at fault? And a Federal Judge made a ruling that may help decide that. According to the Philadelphia judge, Uber drivers are independent contractors, not employees.
The Drive reports that a US District Judge ruled that Uber doesn’t have enough control over drivers for them to be considered employees. So, with that being said, can Uber be at fault for accidents in the future? Or is it on individuals now?
