The Stories Behind Some Beautiful Chevrolets

As the PowerNation crew checks out the OPGI Spring Summer Series Car Show we take a look at the 150+ Chevrolets on the lot. The Original Parts Group has been putting on car shows for over 10 years of course to sell parts but also because they want to give back to their customers and well because they love cars! This show, in particular, was strictly an all-Chevy show.

OPGI was founded in 1982 and opened up shop in their current facility in Seal Beach, California in 2008. The car shows are not only a great opportunity for people to check out OPGI but to see and admire the other cars people bring out. It’s always great to get together with fellow car enthusiasts.

There are so many unique cars so we thought we’d talk to some of the owners to hear their stories. First up was Denny Henderson and his 1966 Chevelle SS 396. Then we saw an awesome 1965 Corvair Corsa owned by Mike Fiscus. Jim McKay told us about his 1966 Chevy Super Sport 396 and Mike Grambusch filled us in on his 1981 Chevy Chevelle. These cars were just a few of the many that were there!

We also got a chance to take a tour of the 100,000+ square-foot warehouse and it was impressive! You can basically put a car together from their catalog. They have everything from brakes to suspension to interior parts. Out of the 85,000 SKUs they offer, about 10-15% are OPGI manufactured products. They take us through the process of receiving and shipping parts. To top it all off they gave away a brand new Chevrolet 350/390 HP Deluxe engine direct from Chevrolet!
