The New Silverado Diesel Makes More Horsepower, Torque Than F-150 Or Ram 1500

Ram and Ford may have been the leaders in bringing back the diesel-powered half-ton pickup truck but Chevy has the most power.

Reports have been leaked on the numbers from the 2019 Chevy Silverado and Jalopnik reports that the truck puts out a respectable 277 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. For comparison, that’s 27 HP and 20 lb.-ft. more than the F-150. The Ecoboost Diesel option for the Ram isn’t available yet but it’s speculate to have similar numbers to the Jeep Wrangler which would put it at 250 HP and 442 lb-ft.

If you’re interested, the turbo diesel Silverado will begin showroom deliveries starting summer of 2019.
