Semi Takes A Dip In The Ocean On Barge Ride

Close call! North Carolina local news Star News Online reported that no one was injured after a truck slipped partially off a barge bound for Bald Head Island Monday.

Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Elizabeth Buendia said it was not immediately clear what caused the accident but the truck slipped forward, causing the truck’s cabin and motor to be submerged off the back of the barge. As of Monday, the barge was back in the marina and a crane was on the way to lift the truck back onto the barge. Coast Guard pollution responders spotted a minimal oil sheen in the water, prompting collection booms to be placed around the accident site.
