Lotus Is Selling Their New Track-Only Car In America
January 20th, 2017
Last week British carmaker, Lotus, revealed the Exige (ex-eege) Race 380, which is a track only version of the Exige Sport 380. It has a 375 horsepower 3.5-liter supercharged V6, weighs only 2,200 lbs. and is the fastest Exige to ever lap Lotus's test track.
Starting in May of this year, Lotus will begin selling the Exige Race 380 to U.S. customers as a "track only vehicle" at a starting price of $145,000! And that price is before any options, taxes or transportation fees. Lotus can sell this as a "track only vehicle" because unlike the regular Exige, which can't be sold here in the U.S. because it doesn't conform to our traffic safety laws, the Exige Race 380 wasn't meant to be registered as a road car, therefor avoiding certain restrictions.
