GM Has Built The Last Chevrolet Impala As It Makes Room For Electric Trucks

It’s official. The last Chevrolet Impala has rolled off the production line at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck factory last week as the automaker prepares to turn the plant into a center for electric vehicle production. It’s reported that the red sedan has already been sold to a private owner.

The change will focus the plant on building electric trucks and SUVs, starting with the GMC Hummer EV that’s set to go on sale in late 2021.

If you’re a fan of the Impala, don’t worry just yet. Chevy hasn’t said the name is gone for good! The Impala was put on hiatus twice before, from 1986-1993 and 1997-1999 so there’s a chance it could make a comeback yet again.
