A Homebuilt Bicycle Snowplow Is The Answer To All Snow Problems

All you people dealing with snow right now, you might want to check this guy out. This guy thought up something so awesome it deserves all the attention it’s getting online. And while the concept of a pedal-powered snow shovel isn’t new, it has never been put in production or manufactured past some DIYers garage.

Rob Wotzak was fed up with shoveling his driveway and decided to take matters into his own hands. The bike/plow creation is made up of a small bike frame, an old lawn tractor plow, and a front axle. It’s actually his third prototype!

There are a few obvious issues but he wasn’t really in this for anything more than what it is: a more enjoyable way to get his driveway cleared.

“I built this pedal-powered snow plow this winter because I was tired of shoveling my driveway. Building machines out of salvaged bicycle parts and other machines is a hobby of mine. I built several prototypes before I got one to work well. I can clear my flat driveway and sidewalk with it, but it’s obviously a workout. Even if it’s not the most practical machine, it was fun to build, and it’s a great way to get some exercise in the winter when it’s not a great time to go for a bike ride.”
