Driver Pulled Over For Expired License Plate…From 1997

WKRN

There’s procrastination, and then there’s this guy.

A Louisiana driver was driving around town with a license plate that had an old sticker. As in 23 years old. The plate hadn’t been renewed since 1997!

Louisiana law requires drivers to renew their tags every two years. So when a Slidell police officer stopped the driver for his expired tag, the driver told the officer he’s been busy and “totally forgot”…for 23 years.

The driver apologized and told the officer he would take care of it as soon as he got home. It’s unclear if the driver got a ticket or got off with a warning but we hope he finally remembered.
