The Ford Maverick May Include a Climate-Controlled Truck Bed

DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 11, 2022 – The all-new 2022 Ford Bronco has taken home the 2022 North American Utility of the Year award and the all-new 2022 Ford Maverick received the 2022 North American Truck of the Year award today. Vehicle shown with available equipment.

The Ford Maverick is one of the hot ticket items you’ll be lucky to find at a dealership. The hybrid version has already been sold out and Ford has been trying to catch up with the long queue of orders. But future Maverick owners may have a unique feature to look forward to.

It is rumored that Ford could be adding an air vent that would link the truck’s unibody to the bed, allowing owners to have climate-controlled space. This would be ideal for anyone carrying sensitive cargo on particularly hot or cold days, as well as for avid campers.

According to the patent, the climate-controlled bed concept would “include an air extractor that vent air into a cargo area of the box.” To keep the warm/cool air inside the truck bed, owners could cover it with a bed liner or tent.

The Ford Maverick has built a reputation for being one of the automaker’s most well-rounded compact trucks, and the use of a possible climate-controlled bed is entirely up to your imagination.
