Tank Drift Ends In A Miserable Fail

A fast fail we haven’t done yet…tanks! And thanks to the driver of this one, the Belarusian military parade will have one less tank. A 40-ton tank lost control during a practice run for the parade which sent it drifting into a light pole as if it were a Mustang leaving Cars and Coffee (Sorry, Ford guys).

Of course, the practice session wasn’t in the middle of nowhere. It ran right through Belarus’ capital city of Minsk. You can see the rest of the military vehicles on display (wisely) come down the road at slower speeds than the original tank. Always learn from those who come before you, right?

The driver didn’t just hit a lamp post. They also took out a tree, a power line came loose in the crash and hit the tank driver’s head.

The 40-ton hunk of steel was damaged by the hit, believe it or not. The Belarusian Defense Ministry spokesman places blame on the driver’s lack of abilities responsible from sparing the tank from further damage after it started to slide. The tank was still operational after the crash, but did have heavy damage to its side armor.

The Belarusian Defense Ministry also blamed wet conditions for the tank’s crash. But aren’t we all get told over and over again to drive to the conditions on the road not what we feel we should drive? Shouldn’t that also apply to tanks? Tanks should be crashed into things intentionally, not fall victim to a parade and lamp post.
