Pickup Drivers In Hawaii Are Having Their Tailgates Stolen Left And Right



Pickup drivers, of Toyota Tacomas in Hawaii specifically, are having a tough time holding on to their tailgates. Toyota designed the tailgates to be easily removable however, they apparently come off a little too easy. CrimeStoppers Honolulu along with the Honolulu Police Department reported earlier this month that there has been an increase of reports from Tacoma owners who say their tailgates have been stolen.

According to The Drive, the Toyota Tacoma is seven times more popular in Hawaii than anywhere else in the US and Toyota is also the bestselling automaker in Hawaii which means these tailgates are a dime a dozen out there. As the tailgates can cost a few hundred bucks to replace, Hawaii residents (and all owners, really) lock ’em up!
