Carl Hartley, who co-owns and operates a dealership, was handed a nine-month suspended jail sentence, 200 hours of community service, a two-year driving ban and $1,800 in fines after admitting to dangerous driving.

The dealership is named after his father, Tom Hartley, and was featured in the 2015 documentary β€œFirst Cut – Supercars: the Million Pound Motors.”

The crash took place in 2018, and both Hartley and the other driver fled the scene. Hartley later came forward saying that his brakes had failed, however, an investigation determined there was no mechanical issue with the vehicle and that both cars had been speeding.
