Guy Donates Corvette With 770,000+ Miles To Museum

Talk about making a car last. Mark Blackwell’s C5 Corvette has accumulated 773,338 miles all on the original engine. But he decided it’s time to retire it and has donated it the Corvette Museum up the street in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Blackwell bought the brand new 2000 Corvette back in 1999 and used it to commute to Georgia and across Florida from his Jacksonville home which explains the odometer numbers. That averages out to about 100 miles a day for 18 years. And even more impressive than that number is that it still has the original 5.7-liter V8 under the hood. According to Road and Track, it needed the original head gaskets replaced only 20,000 miles ago! Have a car with crazy mileage? Let us know about it in the comments.
