Engine stolen from 1970 Cutlass

A classic car collector in Tennessee discovered that someone had stolen the engine from his 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass over the weekend.

“The parts on this car are irreplaceable,” Jay Brownlow told News Channel 5. Finding the original parts that were on this car again is literally like finding a needle in a haystack.”

According to the story, some of the cars he restores sell for upwards of $60,000, so this definitely took a chunk of change from this gearhead’s pocket.

It’s apparent that whoever took the time to steal the engine obviously knew what they were doing and probably had some extra help.

Brownlow said he’s been in contact with law enforcement officials about offering a reward for information that gets the car’s engine returned.
